It seems that Krispy Kreme have missed the memo about the world being in the middle of a pandemic. Australia has not yet been as hard hit as most other countries, but Victoria is slowly becoming a hotspot and the city has been forced into a lockdown. This didn’t stop the donut company from promoting free donuts to celebrate its 83rd birthday across its stores. Not surprisingly, customers have flocked to get themselves a freebie which has caused a large crowd and traffic chaos, halting attempts to get the virus under control.
Come on Krispy Kreme, did you really think people wouldn’t gather in droves for a free fried ring of deliciousness? Happy Birthday to you, here’s your surprise : a cluster of COVID-19.
